Great Expectations

I'm a planner.  I write lists and I tick boxes.  But not any more.

Now, I wing it.

On Sunday, David and I fly out to Bangkok.  Apart from knowing we are staying at my cousin's on the first night - and let's face it, that didn't take too much planning - not much else is planned.  I know we fly out of Hanoi on July 5 (onwards to London) but between now and then, and Bangkok and Hanoi, we have very little plans. We go with the wind; I wing it.  We love a place? Well let's stay there another night.  We wish we saw more of that temple? Simple, we go back the next day.

As a self-confessed planner, this slightly terrifies me, but I figure with David at my side - who I don't think has ever written a list in his life - I'm pretty sure I can do it.

So do I have expectations? Sure.  But I haven't written them down.

(Disclaimer - I do have a little notebook that I am repeatedly writing lists in; things to pack, things we need to buy before we go, and who I need to be in touch with.  This list-writing notebook is coming with me - I'm not a complete convert.  Yet.)
